Many people want to become a millionaire before they turn 30 but they simply just waste their time. They procrastinate about making a difference with their life.

Well if this is you then you are in the right place today because I am going to show you how to stop wasting time and how to actually become a millionaire before 30.

Personally I have wasted a lot of time trying to become a millionaire. I started trying to make money online towards the end of 2006, my problem was two fold. Firstly I chose to run websites on topics that I was not passionate on, and secondly I wasted a lot of my time and never really dedicated any time to seeing my business move forward.

Here are some of the ways I wasted time:

  • I didn’t have a day planner

I did have any time properly sceduled in my diary to work on my website. It was more of a hobby than it was a business and I would definately advise against this. The hobby mentality means that you don’t take your online business seriously. You therefore don’t care if it succeeds or fails. Change your mindset and treat your online business as a business.

If you fail to plan then you plan to fail. I failed to plan in my diary when I would worrk on my website and therefore it came second to any other offer that was out there. Maybe I would go surfing instead, or watch a movie. Because it is not a ‘fixed’ job like where you work 9-5 it is easy to become overly flexible with when you will work on your website.

Set time in your diary for when you will work on it and try to stick to it. Just like you would with your normal job, go to work at a certain time and finish at a certain time, you should do that with a website. I have a daily planner on my phone in which I can allocate tasks to by the time. If you don’t have an electronic diary then get a paper one. Have at least one page per day where the day is split into hours. Then commit to work certain hours and put it in your diary.

  • I surfed the net when I should have been working

This was where I wasted most of my time online. Playing Lemmings and Stick Cricket were my main two distractions online. I would waste hours of time when I was meant to be working.

How to solve this problem:

Have a list of things you want to achieve whilst online and stick to it. Don’t go wandering off exploring on other sites. Stick to your plan

  • I had no plan

I had no plan of how to achieve what I wanted to achieve. I was shooting for the moon ($1,000,000 in 12 months) but I had no way of getting there. I was trying to walk there when I should have had a plan or creating a space ship to get there.

You need to have a plan in any business. Whether it is an online business or an offline business. You need a general roadmap of where you are going and how you are going to get there. This can be ever changing. I have a basic plan at the moment but it changes all the time as I have a great idea or if something I previously planned didn’t work.

Be flexible but have a plan none the less.

  • I had no deadline

This was another mistake I made. Even if I did have something i wanted to do I would never have a deadline as to when I would want to have it done by. Therefore I would never get it done as soon as I could and I would waste weeks on one thing when I could have had it over and done with in a few days.

So if you are wasting time it is time to stop treating your online business as a hobby and start to see it for what it really is….a business. Stop wasting time and start outworking some of the tips listed here, and as you do that you will surely become more successful.
